Kia Teases Exterior Of Upcoming EV9 SUV in Latest Videos

As a little appetizer for its world premiere later this month, Kia just released two short teaser videos that offer a brief but exciting look at its upcoming EV9: an all-electric SUV with a third row and EV features capable of competing with the premium Rivian R1S, probably at a lower price point too.

The Kia EV9 will emerge as the second all-electric model to don the Korean automaker’s new “EV” series nomenclature. is preceded by the EV6 crossover which hit the market last year and received much positive feedback from consumers for its spacious interior and advanced charging technology powered by Hyundai Motor Group’s 800V E-GMP platform.

Last summer, we got our first look at a blacked-out version of the EV9 concept car, but more recently, we’ve gotten some better looks…at least we think so. In late January, a consumer survey revealed what we believe to be the expected specs for the Kia EV9, which could arrive in five, yes, five different trim options.

Last week, we covered what appeared to be the first public sighting of the EV9, which looked a lot like the original concept that debuted in November 2021. Kia has yet to confirm any of the specs or if the video is legitimate.

Understandable, as it wants to keep consumers hungry to learn more before the SUV’s official debut in a couple of weeks. We’ll certainly have to wait until then, but for now, Kia has posted the video below, showing off the EV9’s headlights and taillights.

Kia shares two new videos of the EV9 ahead of the debut

What do you think? It’s short but sweet, but it’s clear there’s some Hyundai Motor Group DNA present at the front end of the EV9. It seems that Kia has integrated its own version of “parametric pixels” that we point out in our tutorial next week. Hyundai IONIQ 6.

The taillights resemble those of its EV6 sibling and offer a sleek rear end. It will be exciting to see more. Kia also shared a second video today showing off the general silhouette of the EV9, offering an even better view of the SUV that again appears to closely resemble the original concept and video we’ve seen in the wild. You can watch the video below.

For now, Kia claims it will fully reveal both the exterior and interior of the EV9 in mid-March, followed by a complete world premiere at the end of the month. Stay tuned!
