Launch of the MG Comet EV
MG Motor India has officially announced its plans to launch the Comet tiny EV in India next April. The automaker recently revealed the highly anticipated electric vehicle, and its exterior features include a charging port located in the center of the fascia below MG branding, vertically stacked headlamps, LED DRLs with integrated turn indicators, a LED light bar under the windshield with a chrome strip and a two-tone color theme. The Comet EV will also offer customers five color options: white, blue, green, yellow, and pink.

Inside the car, customers can expect sleek air conditioning vents, rotary knobs for the air conditioning controls, and a large one-piece display that houses the fully digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system.
MG Comet EV Range and battery capacity
While there’s no word on powertrain details, the Comet EV is expected to have the same battery pack options as the Wuling Air EV, with a 17.3 kWh unit and a 26.7 kWh unit offering a claimed range of 200 km and 300 km, respectively.
MG Comet EV Prices
The Comet EV will be priced at Rs 10-15 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3. What features the electric vehicle, which will sit below the ZS EV in MG’s electric lineup, will have yet to be announced.
MG Comet EV Size
Based on the Global Small Electric Vehicle platform, very popular in China, this new model comes with options for 2-seater and 4-seater variants. The foreign model, which measures a length of 2,599 mm and a width of 1,505 mm, also has a long wheelbase variant with a size of 2,974 mm and a width of 1,631 mm.
As MG Motor prepares to introduce this innovative model to the Indian market, the question on everyone’s mind is whether it will be offered in the same compact size or in a new tailored version.
